LAHORE – Pakistani authorities say they have arrested six suspected Taliban militants with a suicide vest and hand grenades. According to statements from authorities the group was planning an attack on the Pearl Continental hotel, a five star establishment frequented by Americans.
RAWALPINDI – Gunmen attacked a vehicle carrying a former Pakistani government minister, killing at four and wounding two shortly after he gave a campaign speech for a vacant parliamentary seat. Former Information Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad was injured when he fell during the attack.
