Man Cleared Of Wife’s Murder. Moose Is Now Suspect?
Posted on 28 November 2009 by Jim Walrod
Inge Westlund has insisted since his arrest in September of 2008 that he did not kill his wife Agneta. The police in Sweden did not want to hear that, taking him into custody and holding him for ten days.
Now they’ve decided to drop the charges are after forensic analysis of hair and saliva found on the 63-year-old woman’s body has pointed them to the real culprit, a Swedish elk, better known as a moose.
The murder charges were dropped five months ago and details have only just emerged. Swedish police are planning on holding a news conference next week to explain what happened.
Why did a normally shy animal attack the woman who was last seen walking her dog by a lake near her home? Speculation is that the animal had become aggressive after eating its fill of fermented fallen apples in gardens.
