Former U.S. Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, criticized for her lack of foreign policy experience, was emerging in Asia on Wednesday to give a speech that could boost her credentials for a possible bid for the presidency in 2012.
In her first trip to the region, the former Alaska governor was set to speak at a yearly conference of global investment managers in Hong Kong about everything from governance to economics and U.S. and Asian affairs. How she addressed these topics was supposed to remain unknown, since media was barred from the event.
Sort of fishy, but then one source said she did talk about Alaska’s salmon exports.
May have not made her an expert on foreign affairs but she did mention that Hong Kong was a “beautiful city” showing some knowledge that she in a different country.
The Hong Kong speech marks her first major appearance since she vanished from public view after she resigned as governor in July.
Since then, she’s signed with the prestigious Washington Speakers Bureau and reportedly been flooded with over a thousand offers.
Palin aides refused to disclose her fee for the appearance, which has been rumored to be in the low six figures.
