I am sure that their neighbors would say, if you asked them, he was a quiet man. Despite what the neighbors think, Jessie Fierstine of Manchester, Iowa will be in court next month facing a charge of attempted murder. His intended victim was his 63-year-old father.
The police report from last Saturday says that the younger man attacked his father, Charles Fierstine, with a flashlight, a piece of firewood. Then, using a pocket knife, cut the pacemaker from the elder man’s chest.
The elder Firestine survived the attack and was taken to an Iowa City hospital. His condition is unknown.
Investigators say they have no clue what brought about the attack and the local prosecutor is calling the whole thing “very strange.”
